SPLIT BILL provides a platform for NYC-based dance and movement artists in the early stages of their careers to develop and premiere new work in a shared performance setting.

The SPLIT BILL program includes:
Three evening performance run
Lighting design
Production resources + support
Marketing resources + support
Funding strategies & project planning support
Video documentation of all performances
20 hours of fully subsidized rehearsal space in the theater plus additional subsidized rehearsal hours.
Box office management and ticketing support
On-site prop and equipment storage
Unlimited free access to the Trisk “Think Tank” workspace
Discounted tickets to Trisk Presents performances and events

Applicants are applying for one of three SPLIT BILL opportunities during our Fall 2025 season, with Thursday–Saturday performances:
• The week of OCT 20
• The week of NOV 17
• The week of DEC 1Artists will be selected for one of these three opportunities, and applicants must be available for all three dates to apply.

Artists selected for SPLIT BILL will gain access to program resources within the following timeline, which is structured to provide continued support as artists develop their work leading up to the performances.
MARCH 2025
Selected artists are welcomed into the program! Each artist will receive a contract with performance dates and scheduling details and be provided with fully subsidized and discounted rehearsal hours. Additionally, artists will have access to guidance on funding and project planning resources to support their work.JUNE 2025:
Artists attend the Trisk Meeting-a welcome session where artists meet their Split Bill co-artist and connect with Trisk Team to discuss technical, design, marketing, and executive aspects of the program. This meeting provides an overview of the production timeline, key milestones, and available resources, ensuring a shared understanding and a strong start to the process.FALL 2025
Artists meet with the Trisk Team to discuss lighting, sound, and staging needs and marketing stagetgy to outline promotional support. Also, there will be a Trisk Mini Tech that each artist with an opportunity to explore the theater space and begin planning technical elements ahead of the production week.PRODUCTION WEEK
Artists participate in technical rehearsals, a dress rehearsal, and final preparations before their three-evening performance run. The week includes full production support and a final marketing effort to maximize audience engagement.POST-PERFORMANCE
Artists receive compensation, video documentation and access to continued performance ticket discounts and community resources at Trisk. -
To be considered for this opportunity, artists should be...
engaged in a creative process with the intention of creating new work (20-25 minutes in length) to premiere in the SPLIT BILL Series. For the purpose of this application, a new work is a project still in development that has not yet been performed in its intended entirety. It should not be a remount or a work that has already had a full public premiere in the form that will be presented as part of this split bill opportunity. Works that have begun development in other settings, as well as works-in-process showings, excerpts, or early versions shared in other contexts, are eligible—as long as the final, fully realized version has not yet been performed.

Please note:
Artists cannot currently participate in any full-time programs that grant degrees (including K-12, undergraduate, or graduate studies) in any field.
Individual artists, companies, collaborative projects, or collectives are welcome to apply as a single applicant.
Applicants are applying for ONE of three SPLIT BILL opportunities during our Fall 2025 season, with Thursday–Saturday performances the week of OCT 20, NOV 17 or DEC. Artists will be selected for one of these three opportunities, and applicants must be available for all three dates to apply.
Artists who have been presented by Trisk within the past five years (2020–2024) or are scheduled to be presented in the upcoming two years (2025 & 2026) are not eligible, excluding those featured in guest-curated presentations.
This program is designed to provide artists a platform using the standard and current theatrical equipment available in our theater and with resources here. As part of a shared-bill structure, both artists will have equitable access to the venue and the program's resources. We are excited to support your work within these parameters and encourage applicants to consider how their project can fit the structure of this program.

We are committed to a transparent and inclusive selection process. Artists apply through an open application process, and our selection process is conducted in collaboration with a rotating peer panel.
Selections will be based on artistic alignment with the goals of the program, strength of artistic vision, and the ability to present work within the provided resources and timeline.
