Tyrone Jackson played by J’royce Jata gave an outstanding performance as a youth from the inner city who struggles with a learning disability. This young man brought a larger than life persona to his character garnering quite a bit of audience reaction during his scenes.
- The Fame Network

The latest single from experimental New York singer J’royce Jata takes the familiar concept of being “high” on someone’s love and gives it new meaning. Usually the protagonist of these songs is a hopeless addict, intoxicated by every move their lover makes. But on “Wasted,” taken off their upcoming Quartz EP, Jata is remarkably clear-eyed, contemplating the time spent denying their own needs. “The bartender never really cares / And then I look up to check in on my phone,” they sing with soulful absolution amid spacey soundscapes. With “Wasted,” Jata is a sinner confessed and born anew.
